Revive You Retreats is all about totally getting away…peace & quiet….nature, wellness, mindfulness and meditation. Locations which are truly spectacular due to their unique surroundings and idyllic location. Most of the destinations are UNESCO Heritage sites. Each offer something very special. We will nourish you with delicious nutricious organic food and revive you with daily activities. Our retreats are much more than yoga retreats…they are really about your surroundings & location.

Alma

Alma & Des live in Mallorca with their 2 boys Archie & Sonny. From Ireland, they moved to the island to focus more on their Retreat business and also immerse themselves into the culture & language of the island.

Alma recently completed her 500 hour teaching studies with Patrick Beach & Carling Harps at the Awakening Yoga Academy in Seattle. She is looking forward to launching her own Teacher Training programme in 2024.

“I worked in Marketing & PR roles for over 20 years in senior management positions & whilst I loved every minute I was running on empty I took on my first teacher training course with Dave Curtis in 2008. That’s where it all began….a few years later I opened my first yoga studio.

I have been teaching Vinyasa Flow yoga to all ages and levels since 2008 and have taught over 11,000 classes… I like to think you are in safe hands when you come to my classes and I welcome everyone.

My approach is simple really… keep it fun, keep it safe and offer as much support as I can. I love the freedom that Vinyasa Flow gives me when sequencing classes and the variations we can offer to any group anytime.

I managed my own yoga studio YOGAWORX in Cork for almost 10 (very busy) years. We hosted so many great teachers over that time. Along came my first boy Archie in 2012 and I decided to close the studio in 2016, with no regrets and lots of great memories. I started thinking more and more about retreats. But retreats with a difference…the retreats we have handpicked are for EVERYBODY. Our retreats are for those who want a healthy escape in beautiful locations, surrounded by nature. They’re not just for yogi’s but also those who might not ever have stepped onto a yoga mat. I want to give people the confidence to build their own sequences at home and take away as much as they can from our weekends. This has been a dream of mine for some time and now we get to finally share it with you.

I have been lucky enough to have trained with some amazing teachers over the years including David Curtis; David Swenson; Patrick Beach; Prema Jen Posner; Taylor Harkness; Maty Ezraty; Chuck Miller; Steffi White & look forward to continuing my training in 2024 on the beautiful island of Mallorca. We are always learning and each time I take on new trainings I realise there is so much more I can learn, teach and pass onto others.

I really look forward to meeting you at one of our retreat locations or at our Empower Teacher Training in 2024.”

“It was through this sport and training that I developed a love for all forms of exercise and a desire to learn more about health and wellbeing. I trained to become a personal trainer in 2008/09 with NTC and following that gained internationally recognised certifications in strength and conditioning with Charles Poliquin in 2009/10. I have trained since people of various ages and abilities and worked as strength and conditioning coach for various sporting teams including GAA, Rowing and Rugby.

I went back to study Physical Therapy in 2014 with the Irish College of Osteopathic Medicine, gaining qualifications in remedial massage, peripheral manipulations and dry needling in 2016/17. I have since been incorporating all my learnings in helping with people recover from various injuries and leading them to reach their desired level of fitness.

I met Alma in 2005. We soon realised we were both passionate about exercise, healthy living and of course having fun! Life is about balance after all… It was through Alma that I discovered the power of yoga and how it compliments both mind and body. I have gained a love for practice over the years. These interests and values we intend to imbue on our two boys.

Des graduated from UCC in 2023 with a higher diploma in Coaching Psychology. He also completed his Yoga Teacher training study programme with Patrick Beach & Carling Harps at the Awakening Yoga Academy in Seattle in 2020. He will be assisting Alma & hosting retreats in 2023.
